FAQ

At ARC Homecare, providing quality service and embracing your independence and well-being is our number one priority. We understand how overwhelming the process of aging can be and are here to provide support and clarity with any questions or concerns you may have. Because of the personalized nature of home care, there is not always a single answer for every question. Please read below for some general responses to some of our frequently asked questions about our services. To get answers that apply to your specific situation, please give us a call at (847)509-5988.

What is the process of placing a caregiver in my loved ones home?

ARC begins with a phone interview assessment where a care professional will help you determine the needs of your loved one.  A home visit is then scheduled with one of our registered nurses to discuss level of care and rates.  Once the formal care assessment is established, an agreement for services and contract is signed and a caregiver is ready to be placed in your loved ones home.

What are your options for payment?

ARC accepts check, credit card and any long-term health insurance.

Are you bonded and insured?

Yes.  ARC is bonded, insured and licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Will my loved one receive care from the same caregiver?

Yes.  ARC's goal is to establish a long-term caregiving relationship with your loved one.   We understand how important it is for your loved one to feel comfortable so we provide as much consistency as possible.

Do your caregivers assist with medication?

Because ARC is a non-medical homecare agency, we do not assist with medications but can help with medication reminders.  If you would like assistance with medications, you may request to have an ARC nurse provide home visits for medication assistance once there is a plan of care established.

Can I change or discontinue care?

Yes.  You can change the number or type of service we provide your loved one whenever it is necessary.  We pride ourselves in providing quality care.  However, if you are not satisfied with our services you can always terminate our care services with no additional fees.

What factors determine the total cost for care?

Several factors help determine the exact cost.  Number of hours of care per week and level of services received.  Our home care services are typically billed on an hourly basis.  This makes it easy to make a custom care plan for you.  To discuss exact rates for the services you may need, contact our office for an assessment.

Are services available 24/7?

Yes.  Services are available for visits as little as 2 hours, a visit up to 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Do you provide services to those in nursing homes or assisted living communities?

Yes.  ARC Homecare can provide companionship or personal care to residents in assisted living communities and nursing homes who may desire additional attention or personalized care.
